Veriforce SafeGulf Training is an accredited safety orientation and training program designed for workers in the offshore operations of the oil and gas industry. This one-day course involves virtual SafeGulf training online and on-site. 

SafeGulf training falls under the program developed by Veriforce, a supply chain risk management company, and the Petroleum Education Council (PEC). This offshore training program gives students an idea of the safety hazards of working in the oil and gas industry, especially in offshore operations. Some of the key topics covered in this program include:

• Offshore Safety: A general overview of life and work operations on offshore sites and the best safety practices to reduce the risk of injuries or fatalities.
• Regulatory Compliance: Practices and parts of offshore operations that are regulated by organizations such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), and other governing bodies. 
• Industry Best Practices: This oilfield safety certification course covers the industry’s best safety practices, including the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers Life-Saving Rules to protect workers and their colleagues when on-site.

• Certification: At the end of the course, students must pass their exams to be certified. After passing the program, they will receive their PEC ID card to prove they have met the course requirements.

• Refresher Training: Those who have already passed SafeGulf training previously may retake the training program annually to stay up-to-date and compliant with the industry’s best practices. 

• Offshore Rig Workers: Depending on their company, offshore rig workers can stay on the rig for as little as several weeks up to one year. This means practicing the necessary safety measures around the clock.

• Production and Platform Workers: SafeGulf training covers topics such as offshore transportation and offshore safety. This also applies to those handling fixed locations rather than movable oil rigs.

• Marine and Maritime Workers: Some of the topics of SafeGulf training, such as offshore transportation and the Terrorism Response Awareness Program, apply to marine and maritime workers working offshore.
• Construction and Installation Crews: Knowing the best safety practices during construction can minimize the risk of injuries.
• Offshore Safety Personnel: Staying up-to-date on the best industry safety practices ensures that personnel maintain safety regulations on-site.
• Offshore Support Staff: Even those performing auxiliary duties on rigs or platforms should be up to date with the best safety practices while working offshore.
• Inspection and Maintenance Workers: Workers can spot areas of concern where safety practices could be compromised.

After passing the course, you will receive your PEC ID card. This photo ID card will reflect the PEC course requirements you covered during your training. Your current or prospective employers can verify your card online. Students can also purchase the digital ID card on the PEC mobile app.
