It covers the general safety protocols and regulations for operating all types and classifications of forklifts. We offer OSHA Forklift Training onsite, in our classroom, and online.

We require each student to take a written test. They also must complete a hands-on vehicle inspection and driving proficiency test.
Each student will receive:
- Student Workbook
- Student Test & Test Answer Sheet
- Pens, Hand-outs, and Form
- Testing & grading procedures will strictly follow Omega Safety Training, Inc. requirements.
- At Omega Safety Training a passing grade is 80% or better. We require students who fail the written or hands-on portion of the test to retake the course.
- We grade the hands-on portion by maneuvers. Each maneuver is worth 3/3. Students start with a perfect score of 24/24 and we deduct a minimum of 1 point for each cone hit. The minimum passing score is 20/24 (80%).
- We have a zero tolerance policy for students displaying unsafe behaviors while operating equipment. We will immediately disqualify them and notify the specified contact.
- We also have a zero tolerance policy for cheating during tests. We will remove any student caught cheating immediately and notify the specified contact.
Forklift Operator Hands-On Instruction
In addition to formal training, participants receive practical, hands-on instruction. This portion of the training includes:
- Time with the specific classification of equipment the participant will utilize on the job
- Completion of pre-use inspections following the manufacturer’s guidelines or company-specific inspection forms
hands-On Assessment
The final assessment is a hands-on demonstration of specific maneuvers. During this portion of the course the instructor evaluates the potential operator’s ability and confidence.
Students must safely operate the powered industrial truck through the designated course and workplace performing these maneuvers.

- Driving with and without a load both forward and in reverse
- Driving up and down ramps as applicable with and without loads
- Using all control functions in various lifting situations
- Retrieving and positing loads on racks systems at various levels

Participants who complete all portions of training receive both a course completion certificate and wallet card.*
