Course Overview:
This OSHA Fall Protection Training course was designed to cover the current safety training requirements found in the OSHA Regulations and A.N.S.I. regarding the Fall Protection User in the workplace.
Falls in the workplace are among the leading causes of injury and fatalities in the workplace year over year based on statistics released by BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics), NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) and OSHA Workplace Injury, Illness and Fatality Statistics.
It goes without saying that Fall Protection is also the most frequently sited standard in the USA. OSHA announced May 1st, 2023, it’s national emphasis program to reduce, and prevent workplace falls, a leading cause of workplace fatalities.
Fall Protection requirements have been around since the early 1970’s and over time regulations have been updated and additional regulations added to further protect workers subject to fall hazards in the workplace. With changes in safe work practices, innovations to fall protection equipment in today’s market and changes to regulations there is no reason we cannot keep our workers safe from falls.
By implementing proper site safety analysis, proper fall protection equipment, training, and education you can reduce the number of injuries and fatalities related to falls in your workplace. Course Objectives
Upon completion of OSHA Fall Protection training, the student will be familiar with, types of fall protections systems, fall hazards, methods of keeping a worker from falling, what happens during a fall, hands-on demonstration of personal fall arrest system equipment, understanding self-rescue techniques, the need to report fall hazards, and the importance of housekeeping.
Course Duration and Topics
4 to 6 hours of formal classroom training additional hands-on session: Est. 1-2 additional hours for hands-on use of equipment. Includes inspection and fitment of fall protection equipment.

We offer in-person instructor led fall protection safety training in English, Spanish and Italian to our clients. Students will learn about fall protection in the workplace and get to experience properly fitting and wearing a harness along with what it feels like to be suspended.
Students will be presented with both good and bad fall protection for use and inspection for this training allowing full engagement in both theory and hands-on aspects of fall protection. Students will have the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be suspended in their harness with the use of a tripod and winch system. Some of the safety harnesses are additionally equipped with suspension trauma straps allowing students to not only learn what they are for but how to use it after a fall has occurred.
